A NOTE ABOUT THE CAUSE:
Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties provides essential reproductive health care, comprehensive primary care, nutrition services, and education programs to more than 208,000 local people, regardless of their personal circumstances or ability to pay.
So, for these reasons, supporting Planned Parenthood is of primary importance to me. But I also have a strong personal connection to the org, dating back to the early years of my career. Throughout my 20’s and early 30’s, as a freelance Television Director and Producer living in New York City, I had no access to healthcare—but it was Planned Parenthood that made it possible for me to get an annual checkup, receive birth control, and feel secure in my ability to take control of my own wellbeing.
I’m an Auntie now, with four nieces and a nephew, and it’s vitally important to me that they and their loved ones also have access to quality healthcare, and that PP has the funds and support they need to continue to fight for our rights to control our own bodies. With freedom of choice, we are also enabled to pursue the careers and lives that we, as women, imagine for ourselves, and carry on the battle for equality in every realm. — Kimberly M. Wang
